What is KESMUN?
KESMUN is an annual conference based on procedures of the world's longest running United Nations simulation. The conference is a three-day event based on the work of the United Nations.
The structure of KESMUN XII includes many notable commissions such as the: Security Council, ECOSOC, Disarmament, World Trade Organisation, Crisis, World Bank, World Health Organisation, Arab League, Territorial, UNODC, UN Women, the International Court of Justice amongst others.
KESMUN XIII allows both high school and middle school students to take on the role of diplomats, advocates and judges whilst learning the appropriate manner of negotiation and debate.
KESMUN was first organized in 2010 and started off by students with assistance from schools all over Kuwait. Since that time, due to the dedication and efforts of countless individuals and forebearers, the conference has grown to become one of the most reputable in the country. We believe KESMUN can and will have an indelible impact as an initiative which converges the generations of the future, from across the world, in this country whose success will be crucial for everyone, especially to all those who believe in ideals such as Democratic Principles, Human Rights and Free & Fair Trade. There are very few places where the finely balanced interactions between paradoxes and ideals presents itself as a backdrop for an excellent, productive conference led by young people, for young people with an agenda to discuss, deliberate and solve some of the most pressing issues affecting the world today. Ultimately, imbued in this conference is the KESMUN XIII Team's hope and desire to enable students to become more informed and effective citizens of the global community for the greater good of all.
